Hi Everyone!
Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to go skiing with uni in Val Thoren. I had so much fun there! The sights were so beautiful and I thought it would be nice to share some of the gorgeous views and colours that I captured. I was just using the camera on my iPhone; they are nothing special but nonetheless, enjoy!
Val Thoren by night…
and by day…
What an incredible view! I was so lucky to wake up and see this everyday. Apart from the actual skiing, one of the best things things about a ski holiday is when the sun shines bright on the white snow, setting it sparkling against a bright blue sky. For the first half of the week we were lucky enough to experience this!
If you have ever been on a uni ski trip before then you will be very accustomed to Apres. It is basically a massive party that starts around 3.30pm. It is based on the slopes so everyone is head to toe in ski gear, complete with a glass of beer. It is such an incredible atmosphere with great music, dancing, singing… so much fun! The timing of Apres means that there are always incredible views of the sunset! The photos really don’t do it justice but it was like being in heaven!
After an incredible first few days of beautiful weather we were tested with a few days of complete white out! I found it incredibly hard to ski in these conditions as you could hardly see more then a few meters in front (but I’m a bit of a wimp!).
One of the days it was so snowy that my hair turned to ice and I was so scared that it was going to snap off!
I don’t know about you but such a hair-mare meant it was time to stop off for a decadent hot chocolate and a very indulgent chocolate and banana torte! I definitely felt a lot better after this!
I still can’t get over how much cream they put on the hot chocolate!
Thankfully, the last few days brightened up again and we were able to enjoy some more skiing.
I had the most incredible week of my life! I just wish I had another year at uni so I could go again!
If you do get the chance to do this I would really recommend it. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been skiing for years, you are sure to have so much fun!
Has anyone else been skiing this season?
Lots of love,
