Ring in a New Trend

There’s only a little time left before gloves and mittens become mandatory cold weather wear. Instead of subjecting my fingers to frostbite when the temperature dips, I’ve decided I would rather make their last few weeks in the sunlight more beautiful with a few accessories. The question is, however, which ones to choose?

Even if you’re not a fan of country music, Carrie Underwood is worth following for her flawless, feminine, and timeless stye. Recently, the elegant singer walked the red carpet at the Country Music Awards wearing two of today’s most fashionable ring trends. In photographs of the red carpet coverage, you can see a sparkling double knuckle, otherwise known as a two-finger ring, on her left hand. The ring was made up of three sparkling, large flowers, the petals of which extended over three of her fingers.

The style is very popular right now. The diamonds in Underwood’s ring gave it a brilliant shine and make it the perfect example of a statement piece—another favourite trend for the season.

Underwood’s ensemble also delivered on another ring trend on her left hand, with a stunning, diamond coil ring wrapped around her pointer finger. As you can see from the designer rings being presented this season, coil rings can come in all shapes and sizes. Underwood’s was thin and took up her entire finger, while a style such as Gorjana’s Gold Olympia design illustrates a smaller and less-pronounced way to pull off the trend.

Of course she isn’t the only big name to expertly demonstrate a ring-centric trend as of late. During a recent interview with jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher, she recommended that today’s modern ladies stack their rings to make a lasting impression. A collection of thin, gold bands is an ideal way to satisfy the look, and it looks best when it’s worn without a lot of other jewelry.

Above all else, Fisher warned wearers to avoid falling into a jewelry rut. Rings are easy to interchange and mix into your wardrobe. Of course, that’s easier said than done when you really fall in love with a look, but a little variation never hurt anyone.

And finally, don’t forget to make sure your nails are in tip-top shape, too. Your hands are sure to get a few more looks, and a cute manicure in a neutral colour will let your new accessories shine.
